Hatch Card®
UI/UX
For the Kleiner Perkins Design Fellows Program, I chose to design and envision what the current Hatch Card Platform could look like as a mobile app. This project is primarily based around interaction design but incorporates strong visual design elements as well.
"Functionality and accessibility were guiding principles in creating this UX"
Design Ethos
Primary Issue: A lack of accessibility to the Hatch Card platform on a mobile device as an app.
Secondary Issue: Current credit-card apps are clunky, and are somewhat feature heavy. So how can the Hatch App still provide essential features but stand out in a minimalistic manner?
Guiding Question: How do I make a clean app interface that is familiar and easy to use, but retains the powerful tools necessary to view transactions, analyze statements, and make payments, while considering security features?
Client Identified Features to Include in UI: Current Balance & Recent Transactions, Transactions by Time, Search Transactions, View & Search statements, Make a Payment, Past Payments, Add New Payment/Manage Payments, Security Features: Lock Card/Lock Withdrawals, Security Alerts, Terms of Service, and easy to use Contact Methods.
Client Profile (based of the Hatch Card website): Small and large businesses looking to make quick credit transactions necessary for regular operations.
Keywords (from Identified Features and Client Profile): Easy-to-use, Scalable (Small & Large Business Users), and Quick Design Ethos (from Keywords): A functional business app that allows for simple and quick transactions, statement reviews, and payments while protected by simple (yet accessible) security features.
