Design Ethos: This brand identity is for a German urban outdoor-wear company. In this identity, I wanted to echo traditionally minimalist German designers like Dieter Rams. The iconography of a simple tree, representing the great outdoors, is both minimalist and familiar. This icon is contrasted well with a simple tri-color palate used, whose colors are influenced by the current German flag and the historical flag of the Frankish Holy Roman Empire. Furthermore, the typography used, Questrial, is a modern interpretation of the popular Bavarian font, Helvetica which furthers this connection. Together, these attributes, icons, colors, and types make for a modern and refreshing urbanwear brand.
